The MakerBot Method X Carbon Edition is a desktop 3D printer, built on Stratasys technologies, designed to print in Nylon with chopped Carbon Fibre material. The printer has a circulating 110°C heated chamber for 3D printing in a range of materials including Nylon Carbon Fibre, ABS, Tough PLA and other engineering materials, with Stratasys SR-30 support material on its dual extruders.

 

The Method X Carbon Edition has a number of features including

  • Circulating Heated Chamber - heat controlled to improve layer adhesion with better dimensional accuracy, and reduces the risk of warping

  • Print in range of materials - the Carbon Edition is designed to print in Nylon with chopped carbon fibre, but also prints in ABS, Tough PLA, PLA and ASA

  • Dissolving Supports - the Method X enables support structures to be printed in Stratasys SR-30 or PVA soluble supports (material combination dependent)

  • Dry-Sealed Material Bays - optimal storage environment for materials, forming a protective seal from damaging humidity, with sensors built-in to the bays to monitor conditions

  • Smart Sensors & Connectivity - a network of 21 intelligent sensors embedded throughout the printer gives full control, whilst making material and print management as seamless as possible. MakerBot materials for the Method come fitted with RFID tags
