At CREAT3D Ltd your privacy is of the utmost importance to us when visiting our site or communicating electronically with us. Therefore, we have created our privacy policy, so that we may always be open with you and communicate how your data is used when you use our website.

What information do we collect?

We collect, store and process the following information about you:

How do we collect data?

There are various ways that we may collect your data from you, for example when;

  • You placed an order via our website (or over the phone with one of our team which was processed via our website).
  • You enquired about our products or services.
  • You completed and submitted one of our forms via our website, for example when requesting a test print, or a quote.

  • You submitted a purchase order or an order request.
  • You responded to an advertising or marketing activity we completed.
  • You provided us with your details when we met at an event, workshop, presentation, seminar, webinar or training session.
  • You created a customer account on our website.
  • Your details were passed on to us by one of our product manufacturers.
  • You signed up to request our CREAT3D newsletter to keep you informed on our products, services and 3D printing related news.

We also collect information when you voluntarily complete customer surveys and provide feedback. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

What do we do with your data?

We collect, store and process your data so that we can provide you with the best possible experience and service from CREAT3D.  The data we hold about you, helps us to provide personalised content, recommendations, products and services.

We also require your data:

  • For contractual obligations, for example to fulfil an order and provide customer service, including the management of product warranties, provision of technical support and training.
  • For legal compliance, for example relating to payments or fraud prevention.
  • For legitimate interest for commercial purposes, for example providing relevant content and information as part of running our business.

For business to business communications, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, we will continue to send relevant content via marketing messages, but you will always have the option to unsubscribe should you no longer wish to receive such communications.

Who might have access to your data?

On occasions we may need to provide data to trusted third party suppliers. This may be for contractual obligations or legitimate purposes. When providing data to such suppliers, we only provide them with the information required to perform their specific services.

Trusted suppliers with potential access to your data may include:

  • Our product manufacturers and affiliate companies (including, but not limited to: Formlabs, Markforged, Nexa3D, MakerBot, UltiMaker, Measurement Solutions Limited).
  • Logistics providers (including, but not limited to DHL, UPS, Delivered, TNT, DPD Local).
  • Financial institutions (including, but not limited to HP Financial Services, Stripe).
  • Marketing providers (including, but not limited to Zoom Video Communications Inc, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, Calendly)
  • IT companies who support our business systems and website.

Data may also be provided to Government Bodies or Law Enforcement Agencies when requested, under legal requirements.

We won’t release your data to any third parties outside of our company for the purpose of mailing or marketing purposes.

How do we protect your data?

Data security matters and so we ensure that when we collect, store and use your data, there are safeguards in place. For example, we secure our site with HTTPS, password-protection to customer accounts, and sensitive data is secured and tokenised for protection.

We may transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the UK for processing and storing. This could include staff operating outside of the UK who work for us or are employed by one of our suppliers. For example, such staff may be engaged in the provision of support services.

How long will your data be held?

Where we collect or store your personal data, we will keep it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and where we have a legitimate interest. For example, if you make a purchase with us, we will store your data for 10 years after the last sale. Google Analytics data is held for 2 months prior to deletion.

At the end of the retention period, your data will be completely deleted or anonymised. Anonymisation will be for the purpose of statistical analysis, and anonymous data will be aggregated.

What are your rights?

You have the right to:

  • Request and obtain access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • To correct your personal data when incorrect, incomplete or out of date.
  • To withdraw consent for processing your personal data (where not under a legal compliance).
  • To request your data be erased or to restrict processing (where the right applies).
  • To request data portability (when applied to the performance of a contract or lawful basis for processing this information is consent, by automated means).
  • To object to processing based on legitimate interests, direct marketing and processing for the purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics.

Contacting the ICO

If you feel that your data has not been handled correctly, please contact our Data Controller as we want to make things right. If you are still unhappy with our approach or response to any requests regarding the use of your personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

What if I don't provide my information?

It will be very hard for us to provide you with the best CREAT3D experience if you do not provide your data, for example we won’t be able to send you a quote, test prints or fulfil an order. You are always welcome to phone our team to discuss our products and services anonymously, however we will be limited as to the help that we can provide.
