New Flexible & BioMed Resins from Formlabs

1 July 2020  |  Sabina Gonzalez-George

Formlabs have announced new resins for flexible and biocompatible applications for use with the Form 2, Form 3 or Form 3B Stereolithography 3D printers.

Flexible 80A Resin

This new flexible resin is the most "stiff" soft-touch material in the library of Formlabs Flexible and Elastic Resins, with an 80A Shore durometer to simulate the flexibility of rubber or TPU. Flexible 80A resin can withstand bending, flexing, and compression, even through repeated cycles.

It is ideal for tactile prototyping, consumer products, seals, dampners as well as anatomical models, prothesis and robotics applications.

The Flexible 80A Resin is a reformulation of Flexible Resin, offering more advanced mechanical properties and a new clear look.

BioMed Resins

BioMed Clear and BioMed Amber resins from are biocompatible, ISO 13485 compliant, medical-grade materials, and can be used for applications that require patient skin and mucosal membrane contact.

BioMed Amber is a stiff, functional material for parts that require short-term skin and mucosal membrane contact.

BioMed Clear a rigid and USP Class VI certified material for longer-term skin or mucosal membrane contact. Parts printed in this material are compatible with common sterilisation methods.

These new resins expand the versatility of the Formlabs SLA 3D printers further.

All resins are available to order now.
