This post was originally written in 2016 and has since been refreshed and republished for accuracy purposes.
A new Markforged composite 3D printer, the X7, will be joining the CREAT3D range of 3D printers.
The Markforged X7 is a large format 3D printer designed for producing high-strength parts with the option to include reinforcing fibres in Fibreglass, High Strength - High Temperature Fibreglass, Kevlar and Carbon Fibre using Composite Filament Fabrication (CFF) processes.
The X7 features a large build volume of 330mm x 250mm x 200mm and uses Nylon or Onyx as a base material. The new Markforged 3D printer has an improved Z-layer resolution of 50 microns, and features a unique in-process inspection system using a laser displacement sensor to enable you to test dimensional accuracy during the print process.
