New Formlabs Tough 1500 Resin

Formlabs announce a new resin to the Engineering materials line up.

Whether your part needs to absorb impact, bear loads, or bend, it’s not easy to decide which 3D printing material is the perfect fit for your project. Formlabs' Materials Science Team has been working diligently to develop a new material.

Today, Formlabs have released Tough 1500 Resin, which produces stiff and pliable parts that bend and spring back quickly under cyclic loading. 

Tough 1500 Resin has a tensile modulus of 1500 MPa and elongation of 51%. 

Tough 1500 Resin is ideal for:

• Prototypes that repeatedly bend and quickly return to shape
• Jigs and fixtures requiring repeated deflection 
• Simulating the strength and stiffness of polypropylene (PP)

Tough 1500 is compatible with both Form 2 and Form 3 SLA 3D printers.
