Formlabs Form 3L Lands at CREAT3D

18 January 2021  |  Sabina Gonzalez-George

The Formlabs Form 3L has arrived at CREAT3D. The latest in the Formlabs range, the Formlabs 3L is a large format SLA 3D printer, designed to print large models, prototypes and parts up to 335mm x 200mm x 300mm.

Formlabs Form 3L highlights

  • Using LFS (an advanced form of stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing technology), the Form 3L uses linear illumination and a flexible tank to produce large models
  • Build volume of the Form 3L is 5 times larger than the Form 3. It combines two custom-designed Light Processing Units (LPUs) and two lasers simultaneously to build large parts
  • Compatible with a range of Formlabs 1 litre resin cartridges*, using two cartridges of the same resin at a time

  • Excellent connectivity via Ethernet, Wi-Fi and USB. The print software, PreForm allows for management of the Form 3L within teams to monitor and manage print flow

*Not all resins available for use at launch of the Form 3L. Biocompatible resins not compatible with Form 3L, please refer to Form 3BL.

First large print

Of course, as soon as we unboxed and set up our demo Form 3L, we set it to work on a big single print. This is the way.

More info to follow in upcoming blog on post-processing on a print from the Form 3L.
