CREAT3D showcase the use of desktop 3D printing at 100% Optical.
CREAT3D Ltd (www.desktop3dprinter.com), the independent specialist retailer of desktop 3D printers and 3D scanners will be showcasing the desktop technology in a 3D printing feature at 100% Optical 2015 from 7th to 9th February, at Excel London.
3D printing is being used in both the design and manufacture of products, in fields such as engineering, through to architecture and design. The process allows the development of unconventional shapes and geometries that are not available through traditional fabrication methods. The use of desktop 3D printers is not about replacing existing manufacturing processes but about enhancing the product design process. The technology can be used to create individual components, customised elements and one-of-a-kind items. It is particularly apt for prototype and design development, as design iterations can be quickly and easily produced, at a low cost.

The Fuel3D scanner is particularly suited for smaller, more detailed scans, ideal for capturing high resolution mesh and colour information such as facial features and head shapes, the output of which can then be incorporated into the design process.
